Will a Reese Class III Trailer Hitch # 37069 Fit a 1985 and a 2004 Jeep Wrangler?

I do have a few hitches that will fit these vehicles individually, however, there are no hitches which will fit on both your 2004 Jeep Wrangler and 1985 Jeep CJ-7. For your 2004 Jeep Wrangler, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Class III # 13408. This hitch is confirmed to fit your Wrangler by Curt and we have test fitted the hitch on a 2004 Jeep Wrangler. I have attached a photo of this hitch on your vehicle. This hitch is a bolt-on installation and the maximum gross trailer weight is 4,000 lbs.
Before 1986, the Jeep Wrangler was called the Jeep CJ-7. For your 1985 Jeep CJ-7, I recommend Curt Hitch Receiver Class III # 13412. This hitch is confirmed to fit your Jeep by Curt. This hitch is an easy bolt-on installation, no welding required. The Black powder coat finish covers an e-base coat for rust protection. The Maximum gross trailer weight for this hitch is 3,500 lbs.
If you are planning on towing a trailer, I would recommend Ball Mount Kit # 989900. This kit fits 2" hitches and will fit both hitches recommended for your vehicles. The kit has a gross weight capacity of 7,500 lbs. You will also need a wiring harness to tow a trailer and I recommend Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Connector # 118409. For your 1985 Jeep CJ-7 I recommend Wiring Harness # 18252. Both of these harnesses are confirmed fits.
I have attached a video of wiring harness # 118409 installation on a 2004 Jeep Wrangler, a review video of the ball mount kit, an installation of the Curt Hitch on a 2004 Jeep Wrangler and a review video of the wiring harness for your 1985 Jeep CJ-7.
