What Fifth Wheel Travel Trailer would Work Well Towed by a Short Bed 2014 Toyota Tundra

Question:

I currently own a 2014 toyota tundra 4x4 V8, 5.7l short box truck. I am looking at purchasing a travel trailer, fifth wheel. What is your advice for length, best type to choose?

Since you have a short bed truck I would look into the Heartland trailers that have the 89 degree nose on them as they allow you to make tight turns without having to use a slider hitch. Slider hitches are great solutions but they end up requiring you to get out and operate them everytime you enter or leave a parking lot. Plus they weigh more.

Aside from that you would want to be sure not to exceed the towing capacities of the truck with the weight of the trailer loaded.

For a rail kit for the bed of your truck I would recommend a custom install kit like the part # RP50084-58 which will minimize drilling on your truck when compared to a universal kit and will install much quicker and easier. If you went with the 89 degree nose you could then use the part # RP30081 that you referenced.
