Do Locking Hitch Pins have a Towing Capacity and Multiple Hitch and Coupler Locks Keyed Alike
Question:
First, I have a 97 F250 and i tow a 23foot toy hauler the max weight is 9995lbs. Will these locking pins handle the pressure? I see a lot of light weight reviews on them. Second, what is the outside diameter of the outside dumbbell part of the lock? I am looking at the coupler lock e98882 with the 7/8inch throat, it may interfere with my hitch body. Third, I understand I would be able to order 2 of each and have them keyed alike. It is a simple as adding keyed alike on both and you take care of the rest? Thank you!

Trailer hitch lock # e98882 does not have an official weight capacity because it exceeds what the trailer hitches are capable of (for Class III and IV hitches). So it can handle a 10,000 pound trailer or more. The diameter of the thicker ends of this lock are approximately 1 inch.
Lock # e98890 is a coupler latch lock. The diameter of the pin is 1/4 inch. The length of the pin is 7/8 inches. The ends are 1 inch in diameter as well. Since this is for the trailer coupler it would not interfere with the hitch but could potentially interfere with the coupler body.
All of our etrailer.com locks can be ordered as keyed alike as long as they're all placed on one order. Make sure you order everything you need at once because there isn't a way to order a new lock that matches the same keys as one you already have.
