Can a 2015 V6 AWD Honda Crosstour Tow 2 Snowmobiles

Question:

Hi, I am considering purchasing a Honda Cross tour V6 AWD, although I would like to still be able to tow my 2 snowmobiles Polaris 500 fan cooled sports in an enclosed 2 sled trailer. Over the years, I use a Saturn Vue V6 AWD and this rig has been fantastic, but she is up past the 200 mile mark and the frame is getting soft. I realize the towing capacity on the Crosstour is only 1500 lbs but would the suspension and brakes be able to support the towing every once in a while? Thank you for your support in advance and I look forward to your response..

As long as the gross trailer weight is under the 1,500 pound capacity and the tongue weight is under the 150 pound capacity of the 2015 Honda Crosstour then you will be good to go as far as occasionally towing the trailer.

If the trailer is heavier than the capacity of the vehicle I can't recommend towing it.

The suspension would be fine because if the trailer is within the capacity of the vehicle then the tongue weight would be just 150 pounds which it should not have a problem handling from time to time.

Braking distance will be increased so you will want to give yourself plenty of extra room or install brakes on the trailer. I checked the Crosstour owner's manual and it does not say that the trailer has to have brakes. I have linked a couple of help articles on adding brakes to a trailer for you to view.

For a ball that fits the ball mount # 3590 for hitch # C11002 you can use # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch or # 19258 for a 2 inch. For trailer wiring use # C56215 to add a 4-Way flat to the rear of the vehicle.
