Operation of Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness C56012 for a 2007 Pontiac Torrent
Question:
If I hit the brake pedal, will the trailors brakes light up, also will it control the blinkers?

Yes! The 4-way wiring harness is designed to send a signal to the brake lights and the turn signals. The green wire is for the right turn, the yellow will control the left turn and the brown wire will be the brake lights. For the wiring harness to function properly it will need to be grounded, that is what the white wire is for. This Curt T-Connector # C56012 wiring harness will directly plug into the plug located in your 2007 Pontiac Torrent and provide you with a 4-way plug for your trailer to plug into.
If your trailer has brakes, you will need to adapt your 4-way to a 7-way and equip your vehicle with a brake controller. The adapter I recommend is the # ETBC7. This will use the 4-way the # C56012 provides and then give you all the rest of the items you will need to hook up the rest of the connections.
For a great brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha P3 # 90195, because of its easy user interface. The P3 is a proportional brake controller which means it senses how the tow vehicle is slowing or stopping and applies the trailer's brakes with the same intensity. It also has a full display screen instead of codes that need deciphering. The Tekonsha P2 # 90885 is like the P3's little brother, it has all the great qualities but doesn't have the display of the P2.
I have linked all the parts mentioned above as well as an installation video of where to find the 118432 wiring harness plug on your vehicle, it will also walk you through where the fuses and relays will need to be placed.
