Connecting Wires of 37175 4-Pole to 6-Way Adapter to Install Brake Controller on 2011 Ford F150

Question:

need a video for 37175 installation to a 2011 ford f150 4x4 w/4 flat. Im not sure where and how to treat the extra 3 leads on the 37175. My horse trailer is wired for a 6 pole and has electric brakes but I have yet to install a brake controller yet.

The # 4 pole on the 37175 would plug directly into the existing 4 pole on your truck, leaving three remaining wires. The blue wire carries the output voltage from the brake controller, the red wire carries 12-volt auxiliary power from the vehicle to the trailer and the white wire is a ground. The red and blue wires would be lengthened and ran under the vehicle up to the engine compartment. The blue wire would run through the firewall and connect to the blue wire exiting the rear of the brake controller. The red wire would run to the positive battery terminal, via the 40 amp breaker included in the kit. The white wire would ground to the vehicle frame.

The # ETBC6 includes the 37175 adapter, plus all the wire, hardware and circuit breakers needed to complete the installation.

If you haven't decided on a brake controller as of yet, I'd highly recommend a proportional controller like the , part # TK63VR, which will work great on the electric brakes used by your horse trailer. If you might want to pull a trailer that has electric over hydraulic brakes, you'd want to use a controller that's compatible with that kind of system, like the Prodigy P2, part # 90885.

I'll link you an instruction link and an FAQ article that should be helpful.
