Question:

I have a 07 Toyota tundra with 7pin flat connector on vehicle side and I am going to ad backup lights on my boat trailer which I have ordered from e trailer .The boat trailer does not have any backup lights at all on it.the trailer connection has a 5 wire flat going into a 5 round flat that plugs into the vehicle 7round flat.My question isIs there an adapter plug I can purchase for the trailer side that I can ad to the 5 way or replace the 5 way flat that I can hook up my backup lights to and still use my 5way round that plugs into the vehicles 7 way if so how do I make it work?Or what do you recommend?

Since you have a 7-way on your 2007 Toyota Tundra the best solution is going to be to replace the connector on your trailer with a matching 7-way like part # H20046 and then run the yellow wire of the 7-way to the reverse lights.

Whenever possible we try to avoid adapters as they end up being just another component that can potentially cause a problem. The simpler the approach to wiring the better.
