Does Hitch Ball Height Factor in to Determining Rise/Drop Calculation for Picking Out Ball Mount
Question:
What is the measurement from the shank face to the top of the ball. Trying to calculate my rise/drop. Thanks

When determining rise you don't need to factor in the height of the hitch ball unless it's a high rise ball. The rise calculation is done by taking the measurement from the top of the hitch opening down to the ground and comparing it to the distance from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler when sitting level.
In relation to the ball mount the dimension would be from the bottom of the ball mount platform to the top of the shank of the ball mount like in the picture I attached.
An example of a high rise ball is the part # C40034 which adds 2 inches of rise.
