Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier and Compatible Cargo Bag Recommendations for a 2003 Ford Escape XLS
Question:
I need to know if this will work AS DESIGNED on a 2003 Ford Escape XLS? I read some customer comments regarding it not working folding properly on some vehicles and need to know if it will work on mine before I purchase it. What size cargo bag is designed to work with this carrier?

In order to determine if the etrailer.com Hitch Cargo Carrier, # e98874, will fit on your 2003 Ford Escape XLS, you will need to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole out to the distance required to clear the rear bumper. If this distance is less than 9-1/2 inches, then the carrier will fit when in the folded up position.
The recommended cargo bag is the etrailer Cargo Bag, # e98990, which is 40 inches x 20 inches x 20 inches and holds 9 cubic feet of gear.
