How to Add a Disc Brake Kit to an EZ Loader Trailer with Idler Hubs and No Brake Mounting Flange
Question:
Looking to add surge brake kit to my 2005 EZ Loader boat trailer so I can tow it behind my 5th wheel but notice the axle is 2 inch square tubing. Obviously, the round brake flange will not fit. Is there a fix for this short of replacing the square with a real axle? Thank you.

Thanks for the great picture of the hub and axle setup of your trailer. It looks like you don't have a brake mounting flange at all on your axle so you would need one to install the # T4843300. The mounting flange you see in the product pictures is for attaching to a flange that is already installed on the axle.
Adding brake mounting flanges to a spindle is something that only a qualified welder with experience welding them on should do. A much easier solution would be to go with a spindle that has a flange mounted to it already like the part # TRU74FR. This would also require a professional install but it would be compatible with the # T4843300.
Be sure to check the local laws in your area about towing trailers behind trailers.
