Thule Passage 2 Trunk-Mount Bike Rack TH910XT Fit for 2014 Ford Focus ST Hatchback
Question:
2014 Ford Focus Thule Passage 2 Bike Carrier - Trunk Mount Code: TH910XT Hey, I saw the video on this product and saw that it fit the standard Focus Hatchback. I have the Focus ST and was wondering if it would fit my car as well. The concern I have is that the ST has a longer and slightly more raised spoiler where the top straps would be coming down. Any information about this would be greatly appreciated, and Thanks.

The Thule Passage 2-bike trunk-mount rack # TH910XT is a confirmed fit on both the 2014 Ford Focus sedan and hatchback ST models with factory spoiler. My contact at Thule confirmed that there are no fit issues on your car, but it is true that there will be some strap-to-spoiler contact when the Passage 2 is installed on your car. The linked video shows how the rack fits on the hatchback version.
If you want to avoid concerns about the vehicle being damaged by the rack then I suggest a hitch and hitch-mounted rack that will completely avoid spoiler and hatch contact. A hitch rack will also let you keep use of the rear wiper. Trunk-mount racks mean you cannot use the rear wiper with the rack installed. You cannot open the trunk/hatch with the rack in place.
Curt Class I hitch # C11158 is a confirmed bolt-on fit for your ST hatchback and it includes all the hardware needed to install it.
With a hitch like this on your Focus I recommend the Swagman XC 2-Bike Rack Platform Style for 1-1/4" and 2" Trailer Hitches # S64650. This is a great economical and lightweight option. Then to secure the rack to your vehicle rack lock # e98879 and bike cable lock # e98891 to secure your bikes to the rack.
