Is the Center Suspension Hanger Being Taller with the Dexter Equalizers K71-449-00 Normal
Question:
I have the Dexter heavy duty suspension kit # K71-449-00 and 1 3/4 x 25 1/4 1750# springs. Can you tell me are all the hangers supposed to be the same height ? My traile the center one is 1inch longer. I do believe it originally had a slipper sprin setup and previous owner put in a double eye setup. Then let it go and wore it to the point the hangers need to be replaced. The original hangers are 2inch wide. New ones would be 1 3/4inch wide with the K71-449 kit. I got hangers from you which the center one is a inch longer. Do I need to change to one a inch shorter? Also the replacement Dexter carry on axles I got say 74inch spring center on them but mesure 74 3/16. How much off center can they be?

The center hanger on tandem axle trailer is pretty commonly taller than the other hangers as the shackle straps and equalizers push the final height of the end of the spring up higher. Basically the longer hanger compensates for the shackle straps so as long as the leaf spring eyes are level you would be totally fine.
Since the equalizers part # K71-449-00 aren't as tall as others going with a taller center hanger would be normal under most circumstances. Are your trailer spring eyes level with each other? If so, that's all that matters.
If the dimension of the axle spring center matches the same dimensions as your trailer it will be just fine. If your trailer needs a 74 inch dimension and you got 74-3/16 you would want a shorter axle.
