Recommended Trailer Tire in Size 235/80R16

Question:

I have a Jayco 345 bh 5th wheel, it has 11,000 lbs on the wheels on my heavy days. it has 235/80/r 16 tires and 16 in rims not steel Question? i had a little trouble with tires and i was thinking about going to a 12 or 14 ply tire..... i wont be carrying any more weight but the air pressure would go up from 80-95 or even 110 if i went crazy with a steel belt. the rims are rated at 3500 lbs, would they take the additional air pressure? Or does air pressure matter as long as i dont go over my load limit on my rims?

Your steel rims are going to handle the additional tire pressure, but the limiting factor is going to be the valve stem on the wheel. If you were to go to a higher rated tire you would just need to be sure that the place mounting the tire uses a valve stem rated high enough.

For a tire in the size you want that would have plenty of capacity the part # TTWTRTM2358016E would be perfect as it has a capacity of 3,520 lbs at 80 psi and has a higher 81 mph speed rating when compared to most trailer tires.
