Camco Power Grip RV Power Maximizer # CAM55025 Tripping Circuit Breakers

Question:

I recently purchased a Power Grip RV Power Maximizer - 50 Amp Female to 15 Amp Male and 30 Amp Male. After trying to use this cord this weekend in several different sites it just dose not work. The park had regular outlets with a 15amp breaker and a non gfi plug and it still throws the breaker for the outlet as soon as it is plugged in. Any ideas? Thanks

According to my Camco rep, if the outlets you were using at the campsites weren't GFI you might be trying to draw too much power which is throwing the breakers. Trying to draw more than 45 amps would throw the breakers. There could also be a short somewhere in the RV wiring that's causing the breakers to blow.

I'd recommend making sure every lamp and appliance in the RV is shut off when you plug in. Then, begin turning on things until the circuit breakers blow.
