Recommended Installation Method for Erickson E-Track in Enclosed Trailer
Question:
Im trying to find a permanent way to mount the track in this truck. We have tried self tapping bolts, but those popped out eventually as my coworkers over tighten straps a bit. Im including pictures of what Im dealing with.

Thanks for the photo of your trailer interior. E-Tracks like # E19148 need to be mounted with at least 2 fasteners per linear foot on each side to a structural surface on the trailer in order for them to meet their specs. I see from your photo that you have a track spanning the structural ribs inside the trailer. It does not appear this installation has enough fasteners and that may well be the issue.
I can recommend a couple of options. One is to bolt the E-Tracks all the way through the trailer's ribs and outer shell. This would avoid the issue with the self-tapping screws popping out but it would also mean visible hardware (bolt heads) on the trailer's exterior. You'd do well to seal these with silicone like # LT37467.
Another option is to install additional wood material inside the trailer at the point where you want to mount the E-Track. Some 3/4-inch plywood, secured to the ribs with plenty of suitable fasteners, would provide a larger mounting surface for the track that can better disperse the force on it.
For reference I have linked all of our E-Track accessory parts.
