Does the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series 5th Wheel Tailgate # VG-97-100 Require Paint Prior to Install
Question:
The directions say another coat of paint would be a good idea before installation. Is it really needed and if so, should I lightly sand the unit before painting? It arrived in great shape and all pieces accounted for. Cant wait to get it installed. Thank you.

If the paint looks good as-is on the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series 5th Wheel Tailgate # VG-97-100 I wouldn't bother adding additional paint to it. The tailgate is powdercoated which would be stronger than any standard paint you would spray it.
The only time I would recommend painting the tailgate would be if there were flakes or scratches in the powdercoat that go down to bare metal. This may happen in the future from use. But for right now you would be fine without it.
