Replacement Box Recommendation for Tow Ready Trailer Wiring 118422
Question:
I bought this wire harness along with a Hidden Hitch tow hitch years ago. I somehow got water in my trunk and the module got wet and burnt out, literally. The picture attached shows the burn hole where the pencil point is pointing to. I was surprised that this happened since the module is completely sealed. I checked to see if it would work by changing the burnt out fuse first, in the cars fuse panel, but it shorted out again. I then checked the harness fuse and that too was shorted out. So I changed both fuses and turned the light switch on and the module started smoking so I shut the lights off and removed the fuse from the harness. Now that the module is burned out I switched the plugs back to their original lights to have rear operational lights. My question is, after my long story, can I purchase just the black power module or do I have to purchase a whole new harness? Also, could you possibly check to make sure this is the same product I ordered years ago? To be on the safe side that is. Thank you for your help.

I checked your order notes and you ordered the part # 118422. The converter box changed over the years and that is why it looks different now.
You could use the # 119250KIT as a replacement that would just require you to match the wires on the input side of the box by color to the wires you have ran to your shorted out box.
