Fitment and Compatibility of Inno Velo Gripper Bike Rack for Truck Beds with Bed Cap

Question:

Question on the INRT201. My truck has a cap on the bed. Does the INRT201 have enough in-and-out adjustabillty i.e., perpendicular to the side of the truck to move the bike far enough into the truck bed so that the handlebars road bike with bars dont rub on the inside of the cap? Difficult to tell from any of your photos or videos. Thanks for your help.

Since not every bike has the same standard length or shape handlebars the best thing to do to see if it will clear your cap is to measure. The length of the adjustable rod to the cradle is 7-1/2 inches.

The rotating rods also allow you to adjust the amount of space between your bike frame and the side of your truck bed. That way, you can position your bike close enough to the side of your truck bed to save space but not so close that your bike and truck bed make contact.

Best thing to do is measure how far your handlebars extend past those bike fork and seat mounting posts to see if the distance will provide enough clearance or they will come into contact.

Another great option is the Swagman # S64702, because it has adjustable cradles that you can place on a bar that spans the width of your truck bed. I have linked a video of this on a similar Colorado for your convenience.
I have linked an image for you to better see the distance of the rod.
