Wiring Harness for 2013 Lexus RX 350

Question:

Looking at buying a Curt trailer hitch and wiring for a 2013 Lexus RX 350 NOT FSport model. My question is on the wiring harness: If there is an existing plug attachment on the vehicle, does the $15.95 Curt wiring usually work or is another module required? I saw one of the comments on your website said they had to go to their Lexus dealer to get the wiring to work. Thanks!

The Curt wiring harness # 56083 and the similar Tow Ready # 118252 are intended as replacement parts for the RX 350 that came from the factory with tow package wiring. Since yours does not have a factory hitch this means you will not likely find any connector under the rear bumper/along the frame rail to plug in one of these harnesses, but you can certainly check easily enough.

If there is no tow package connector to match the grey one shown in the linked photo then you can visit your local dealership for wiring to go along with your hitch or you can install a hardwired kit like # C59496.
