Hitch Bike Rack Options for 2015 Chevy Silverado with Truck Camper and Front-Mounted Hitch
Question:
We have a 2015 Chevy Silverado with a front mounted Curt hitch. I would like to find a front mounted bike rack for my mountain bike with a sloped top bar, essentially a rack for 1 or 2 bikes, perhaps a platform hitch I also have a truck camper and a hitch extension, and perhaps the bike could fit on the truck with the camper loaded as well. Any ideas? Thanks

Your options for transporting bikes on your pickup that has a front-mounted hitch and an in-bed camper are either to use a hitch rack in the front hitch or to use a towing style rack like # Y36FR on the rear hitch extension. Since the rear-mounting location can interfere with your turning clearance I suggest you use a hanging style hitch rack in the front hitch.
TheCurt # C18085 2-bike rack is a cost-effective wheel-mount type rack that suspends your bikes from their wheels - great if you have delicate frames or frames without a horizontal top frame tube. If you wish you can add an anti-rattle hitch lock # 63232 to secure the rack to the hitch and a cable lock # e98891 to lock the bikes to the rack.
