Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2016 Ford Explorer with Foot Activated Liftgate

I was wondering if there are any aftermarket hitches that will fit my 2016 Ford Explorer and work with my foot activated lift gate. Im afraid the hitch will cover the sensor and will cause it to be unresponsive when trying to use this feature.

We do carry hitches that will work great for you.

With the installation of a trailer hitch on your 2016 Ford Explorer like the part # 76034 you will still be able to use the hands free liftgate option, but you will need to kick your foot to the sides of the trailer hitch between the exhaust and the hitch opening.

If you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
