Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring Install Where Left Side Blinker Does Not Work

Question:

Hi I installed the harness PN: 118334 in my 2001 Durango. The taillights work on both sides, but problem is that the turn signal and the stop light does not work on the driver side Left side. The passenger side Right side works fine, taillights, turn signal and brake light. I already check the harness in the trailer and everything is fine, i confirmed it by using another car with a factory harness. and tips on debugging this issue.

First thing to try is to just disconnect and reconnect the connectors of the # 118334. Sometimes just doing that will clear up any connection issues in the connectors.

Now to further troubleshoot we need to test to see if the problem is before or after the converter box. You will want to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test for voltage going into the box on the left side turn signal. Then you will need to test for voltage coming out. If the voltage goes in but does not come out the problem is the box. If there is no voltage going in the problem is either the connection of the connectors or the signal on the vehicle itself.

Check out the video I attached for more info on how to test like this.

I also attached a couple other wiring help articles as well.
