Expert Reply:
The lowest-priced trailer brake controller I recommend for your 2011 Lincoln MKT which has the factory-installed 7-way trailer socket at the rear is the Tekonsha Primus # TK90160. This installs without any cutting or splicing of wires using the matching wiring adapter # 3035-P. These two items are all you need to complete installation and together they qualify for free shipping. Tekonsha controllers are renowned for their reliability.
You'll want to check your owner's manual to confirm the towing capacities of the MKT before hitching your trailer.
