Replacement Interior Lamp for 2008 Exiss Sport Horse Trailer
Question:
I need a replacement bulb for the interior of my 2008 Exiss Sport horse trailer. It is the light that goes in the tack compartment of the horse trailer. The numbers on the bulb are OPT BU-70CB it also has 031507 stamped on the back. I see the number BU70CB on this bulb and the wiring looks to be the same. Will is work as a replacement for an interior bulb? Thank you for any help you can give. The light looks like the light shown in the picture.

Your existing lamp is an Optronics # BU70CB. The lamp is sealed, so the actual bulb inside is inaccessible. If the bulb burns out, you'd need to replace the entire lamp assembly, part # BU70CB. Because this lamp is rated as a reverse light for when the trailer is backing up, the DOT limits its brightness, and because it's an incandescent lamp it'll have a rather limited lifespan.
I'd suggest going with an LED utility lamp like part # BUL72CB. You'd get a lamp that's the same dimensions, but is much brighter, would use a fraction of the power and would last much longer than the lamp you're using now. The lamp would use the same wiring pigtail as the one you're using now.
