Converting a 4-Way T-Connector Harness to a 5-Way on a 2010 Honda Pilot for Reverse Lockout Actuator
Question:
I have a four flat on a 2010 Pilot. I am changing the brakes on the boat trailer to disk so I need to power the reverse lockout solenoid, so I need a 5 flat. What is the best way to power the solenoid.

The best and easiest solution would be to add part # 20036 to your wiring setup. It plugs into your current 4-Way and adds a loose lead for the 5th wire for your reverse lockout. You will need a circuit tester like part # PTW2993. You will need to use the circuit tester to find which wire behind the taillights carries the reverse light circuit. Be sure to use the emergency brake and have someone help you by putting the vehicle in reverse.
Once you have found which wire carries the reverse light, use the included quick splice to connect the loose blue wire. Run the connector end to the 4 way and connect it. You will now have a working 5-Way with reverse signal for your actuator lockout.
