Weight Distribution System Recommendation for a 2016 Ram 1500 with Factory Air Suspension

Question:

I plan on towing a Fallstaff V-lite travel trailer wt 8000 lb, tongue wt 880lb with a 2016 RAM 1500 Rebel with factory air suspension. Is there anything different that needs to be taken into account when setting up a weight distributing hitch with air suspensions? Does the adjustable ride height / load leveling natue of the air suspension affect how truck height measurements should be taken during hitch set up? Also looking at either an Equalizer or Reese dual cam hitch....recommendation between the two?

When setting up a weight distribution system on a vehicle with auto-leveling rear suspension what you will need to do is first connect the trailer to the truck and allow the auto-leveling suspension to do it's thing. Once it has stopped moving the rear suspension you can then begin to set the weight distribution system up.

Tongue weight also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the vehicle as well, but for a tongue weight of 880 lbs like you mentioned the Reese Strait Line system part # RP66084 that you referenced would be my recommendation. This system has a tongue weight range of 600-1,200 lbs and features the only sway control on the market designed to fight sway before it starts.

For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
