Brake Controller Recommendation and Install for a 2007 Chevy New Body Silverado

Question:

I have a 2007 new body style silverado. Just want to make sure the part 3016 and brake controller that goes with it is a good fit for my truck? Thank you,

For your 2007 Chevy Silverado there isn't a brake controller install port under the dash so the # 3016 would not be the correct harness to use. The wiring for a brake controller is present, but it is not a port or connector. It is 4 blunt cut wires that will allow you to wire a brake controller to.

If you check out the install video I attached you will see our best selling P2 part # 90885 brake controller being installed in a 2007 Chevy Silverado just like yours. I also attached a help article on how to do this as well that will walk you through the entire process.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes.
