Trailer Hitch for Mobility Wheelchair and Carrier on a 2016 Audi Q3
Question:
I am an individual with a disability as such I need to Carry my mobility device with me in my travels, will this hitch carry a combined weight of 350 lbs suspended from the recommended hitch? Has this been confirmed with Audi?

Expert Reply:
Trailer hitches and vehicles have their own tongue weight and gross trailer weight capacities. As such you must go by whichever is lower. Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 75218 is rated for 450 pounds tongue weight so a combined weight of 350 pounds is no problem for the hitch.
It looks like the tongue weight capacity of your 2016 Audi Q3 is 400 to 440 pounds. Consult the vehicle owner's manual to confirm. If the vehicle tongue weight capacity is lower than the hitch then you go by the vehicle tongue weight capacity and vice versa if the hitch is lower.
But if what I found is accurate then both the hitch and the vehicle can support a combined weight of 350 pounds!
