Parts Needed to Install Second RV 7-Way on a Semi Truck
Question:
I am going to be using a 2011 kenworth t700 to pull a 3 axle electric brake trailer, as well as a standard featherlite air brake race trailer. i would like to install a prodigy brake controller, and wire a separate 7 pin connector to rear of tractor so i can use same pigtail. do i need an adaptor or are the turn/brake signals on separate circuits? also, do you know if there is a brake light switch for the red wire attached to the pedal or a separate fuse in the fuse box i can tap into for signal?

The taillight circuits on your 2011 Kenworth T700 will be separate so you will need to use a signal converter like part # 119178 to install the 7-way and wire it properly. The adapter would get wired in between the wiring of the current trailer connector so that the signal would be correct and then would run to the # HM40975-11998 which will provide you with a 7-way and a lead for the wiring.
You will need to test the wiring of the semi to find the stoplight circuit. You can end up using a designated brake light the signal or you can test the wires that run to the brake pedal switch to find it.
