Using a 2 Inch Bike Rack with a 1-1/4 Inch Trailer Hitch on a 2013 Ford C-Max
Question:
I already have the bike rack, but it is a 2inch square drawbar/tongue. I need a receiver for a Ford C Max, 2013, with lift gate and back up camera and sensors. I thought the one in subject line would work but Im guessing it wont. Do you have a receiver that will work on my car with my existing bike rack?

The Curt hitch # C12092, will have a 1-1/4 inch receiver. There is a way to use a 2-inch accessory with a 1-1/4 inch hitch though. You would need to use an adapter, # HTAD. However, the use of an adapter will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent. Because of this I recommend going with a different hitch.
You should instead get the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7200 that has the 2" opening that you need. This way you will not have to use an adapter at all. This EcoHitch is also confirmed to work with the sensor for the hands-free liftgate on the 2013 Ford C-Max.
