Weight Distribution System Recommendation for a Tracer Air 300 Trailer that Weighs 7,500 lbs

Question:

I have a 2011 Yukon xl Denali that I plan on towing a tracer air 300 with. The tracer weighs 6070 pounds dry and can have a max weight of 7500 pounds. The tongue weight of the trailer is 610pounds. What equalizer brand equalizer should I purchase? Thanks

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

Based on the weight of your trailer you would most likely have a tongue weight range of 750 to 1,100 lbs when fully loaded. For a system that would work great with this range you would want the Strait Line part # RP66084. This system has a tongue weight range of 600-1,200 lbs and features the only sway control that works to prevent sway before it starts. For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.

If you wanted to go the Equal-I-Zer Brand you would want the part # EQ37120ET instead. This comes with a hitch ball.
