Replacement 12 inch Brake Assemblies for Trailer with 8 Lug Rims

Question:

I do not know the weight my equipment trailer. All I know that it will take the 12 inch brake assembly. It has a 8 lug 16 inch rim. Does the weight really have anything to do with the brake?

Based on the info you gave me we can get pretty close on what weight capacity your axles are. The capacity is important so that you get brakes that are properly rated. It looks like you have axles that are 5,200-7,000 lb rated.

For replacement assemblies that are self-adjusting and would work great the part # 23-459 for the right hand side and part # 23-458 would be an excellent option for if you have a 6k rated axle.

For 7k instead you would need the part # 23-465 and # 23-464 instead.

Up near the coupler of the trailer there should be a plate that has the VIN listed. There should be axle capacities listed there as well.
