Roof Rack Crossbar Installed Forward of Factory Roof Rails for 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Question:

I have a 2012 4runner and want to put a Yakima Q tower with a single bar above my front doors. I plan to use a rail bracket attached to my existing roof rack for the rear bar. Which Q clip do I need for my vehicle? Thanks so much.

We do offer a solution to install a roof rack crossbar forward of the roof rails on your 4Runner, the Darby Turbo Rack, part # DTA968.

Because all models of the 2012 Toyota 4Runner were equipped with the roof rails running along the edge of the roof, none of the roof rack manufacturers (including Yakima) have developed a clip style attachment that would allow you to install a roof rack crossbar forward of the factory rails.
