Why is There a Different Hitch for the 2013 Mercedes Benz GLK 250 and 350
Question:
You show two different hitches in your pictures of the 250 hitch by CURT. First one without the perpendicular arm reaching toward front of vehicle and extra mounting area on passenger side. The rest of the pics show basically same hitch with the perpendicular arm reaching toward front of vehicle. I assume this is for the 350. Why can that hitch not be used on 250? Urea tank in the way? The installation instruction link form CURT for the 250 shows the vehicle with the extra arm in question. It is being mounted to a white GLK but I cant tell if it is a 250 or 350. I am confused. Please help. Thank you.

The two hitches you referenced for the 2013 Mercedes Benz GLK are very similar but have different applications. The part # C13155 is the correct hitch for the GLK250 whereas the # C13177 is for the GLK350.
While these hitches look very similar you will notice that the back mounting bracket of the 13177 uses a taller mounting plate that comes up higher than the other hitch. This is due to different shaped crossmembers on either vehicle model.
Since you have a 250 you would want the part # C13155.
