Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for Towing and Bikes for a 2004 Mazda 6 Hatchback
Question:
Will this hitch the Curt C11308 work for primarily a bike rack, but I will be installing the wiring kit so that I can tow if I wish.

If I were choosing a trailer hitch for a 2004 Mazda 6 hatchback the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11308 is the right choice. You mentioned you might do some towing. The appropriate ball mount and pin and clip is # 3592. All that would be needed is a ball # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch or # 19258 for a 2 inch.
The Curt hitch # C11308, requires the use of stabilization strap # 18050 when using the hitch with a bike rack or cargo carrier for Curt's warranty requirements, so you will need to add one of these.
And if you do tow I recommend wiring harness # 118405 to add a 4-Way flat to the rear of the vehicle. I have included some links showing example installations of the hitch and wiring for you. Please note the wiring fits several different vehicles so the video I linked isn't a Mazda 6 but the installation will be similar.
