Parts Needed to Install a Brake Controller in a 2012 Chevy Express Van
Question:
Hello. I hope you can help me sort out from the wide array of things a controller and wiring and rear 7-pole round for my 2012 Chevrolet Express 12-passenger short wheelbase van. I do not see the Z82 towing package on my build sheet, so assume I do not have that wiring. But I cannot figure out which of your videos and products I need to do the complete job. I will buy a 33-35foot 2-axle travel trailer in the next couple months. I have a Draw-Tite 41521 Max-E-Loader Receiver and want a nice looking install on the plate they have for the vehicle-side outlet. I need all the wires, to include the backup light. Can you point me in the right direction in the videos and products? Thank you.

You will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one). For that you would want the # 118392.
From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well. The video is for a 2012 Express Van just like yours. Since you have a longer vehicle you will also want some additional wiring with the part # 10-2-1.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
