The Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack with Vortex Aero Crossbars is a great fit for your Mazda 3. This will attach to the fixed mounting points on the roof of your car and also provide you with added security with the included Locks in the leg covers. For this roof rack you need parts # RRVA118B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK289. This roof rack does have a weight capacity of 165-lbs but you will want to check your owner's manual or with your dealership to make sure you do not exceed the roof weight capacity for your Mazda.

The best way to select a roof box for your vehicle is to take a quick measurement and make sure you have the clearance at the back of the vehicle to allow you to open your hatch. You can measure the distance from the center of the front fixed mounting point rearward to the seam that separates the roof and your hatch. This is called 'Front Clearance'.

You can then take a look at the charts I have attached and select a roof box that will work for you. If you have any questions about a specific box or any other accessories just let me know and I will be happy to make some recommendations that will work for you.

I also attached links to our product pages for the roof boxes from Thule and Rhino-Rack that will fit the crossbars you asked about.

It can be difficult reaching the roof box when standing on the ground so I recommend using a tire step like part # HE4040. This slips over the wheel on your vehicle and makes it much easier to reach the middle of your roof.
