Trailer Connector Mounts for Mounting Original Wiring Harness to a New Hitch on a 2010 F-250
Question:
I am interested in purchasing the Curt trailer hitch, part #C14002 for my 2010 F-250 super duty truck. How would I go about mounting the existing OEM wiring to this hitch? The existing wiring consists of a 7 round and 4 pin connection which are mounted via a bracket to the bottom of the original hitch/

Expert Reply:
You should be able to reattach the OEM wiring harness at the back of your 2010 F-250 Super Duty with no problems. The existing wiring will need to be disconnected from the original hitch and then reattached to the new Curt Class IV Trailer Hitch Receiver, item # C14002.
The connector on your OEM hitch should be the Pollak 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket - Vehicle End, item # HM40975. This connector comes with a bracket and Self tapping screws to attach to the hitch or other suitable location under the rear of the vehicle. You will simply unplug your existing harness and when the new hitch is installed select the best location for the 7-Way and 4-Way connector and install it, reconnecting your existing wiring harness to the new connector. The bracket that comes with the # HM40975 connector is not sold separately, at this time.
