Can a 4-Way Trailer Wiring Harness be Mounted Outside of a 2016 Mazda CX-5

Hi, I would like a flat 4 connector. Where or how can I mount it safely so it does not hang down when not in use?

After a trailer wiring harness is installed on your 2016 Mazda CX-5, you will only pull out the harness from inside the cargo area when needed. When not in use it is stored in the cargo area of the vehicle. For a harness I recommend # 118563. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.
If you want to run it outside of the vehicle and permanently mount it on the exterior it will require routing the 4-Way end through the bottom of the cargo area. Look for a grommet that exits through the bottom of the cargo area (under the spare or that general area).
If there is no grommet you would have to drill being very careful not to drill through anything on the opposite side. After the wiring is ran the hole or grommet will need to be sealed up with some silicone such as # 0160297.
Then to mount the 4-Way connector I recommend bracket # 18144 with long no-drill bracket # C57202 or the short version # 18140.
