Brake Controller and Weight Distribution System Recommendation for a 2010 Chevy Traverse

Question:

I need to purchase a brake controller for my 2010 Chevy Traverse w/factory tow package. I am thinking about the Prodigy P2 - not sure what wire harness is needed... will it be plug and play or do I have to splice wires? I look forward to your response. P.S. also looking for weight dist w/sway outfit... which do you recommend. Ill be hauling a 21foot hybrid 3300# w/2 axles.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes.

To install this in your 2010 Chevy Traverse with a 7-way will only require the install harness # 3026-P. This adapter plugs into the 6-pin connector on your vehicle's built-in brake control wiring harness. The harness is located underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal.

For a weight distribution system for a trailer that weighs 3,300 lbs loaded the Strait Line System part # RP66083 is going to be your best option. This system is good for tongue weights that are between 400-800 lbs like what your trailer would end up having and has the only sway control on the market designed to prevent sway before it starts.
