2013 Ford Escape Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for Small Camper
Question:
Hi. I have a 2013 Ford Escape SE EcoBoost. From everything Ive read, its rated to tow 2000#. I am purchasing an ultra light camper weighing 1040 lbs. I need to get a hitch the body shop near me will install it. Ive informed them on your installation videos should they need them. I also need the ball to be between 15-16inch high for optimum hook-up to the camper. How high do they sit on your installations? Which hitch do you recommend Id like it hidden as much as possible and also, can you tell me any other parts I will need receiver, ball, pins, etc. I want to ensure I have everything required to be ready to go! Thanks, I appreciate it.

For your 2013 Ford Escape the most popular hitch is the Draw-Tite part # 75758. This hitch would work well for you and when we installed it on a 2013 Escape just like yours we found that the top of the hitch tube from the ground measured 14 inches. That would mean you would need a ball mount with a rise of 2 inches like the # C45067.
For a hitch pin you would want # C21500, for a 2 inch ball # 40038, and for a 2-5/16 ball # C40007.
Then for trailer wiring you would want the part # 118566.
I attached install videos for you to check out as well.
