Is a Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch Needed in 2015 GMC Sierra with 5-1/2 Foot Bed
Question:
will a reese 30051 5th wheel hitch work with kit 30047 in 2015 sierra with a 66inch box or do I need the slider rails?

The Reese # RP30047 and the # RP30051 are essentially the same hitch. The # RP30047 has fixed legs, while the # RP30051 has a slider.
If your Sierra had the 6 foot 6 inch bed, a slider would be recommended. However, the 5 foot 5 inch bed is too short for a sliding hitch. The lack of clearance between the rear of the truck cab and the front of the fifth wheel would cause the front of the fifth wheel and the cab to collide.
For a 5 foot 5 inch bed, you'll need to use a standard hitch like the # RP30047 and a Reese Sidewinder. The Sidewinder adds 22 inches of clearance between the fifth wheel and the cab, which will allow for much more roof to maneuver. The model Sidewinder you'd need is specific to the pin box installed on your fifth wheel. Somewhere, on the pin box you'll find a label stating the manufacturer and model number of the pin box. If you click the provided link, you can see an FAQ article that explains more about the Sidewinder. There's also a listing of available Sidewinder models and which OEM pin boxes they fit.
The # RP50064-58 install kit you referenced would be compatible with the # RP30047 hitch and with your 2015 Sierra.
To install a 7-way trailer connector in your truck bed, use part # 41157. I've linked you to an install video for the wiring harness and the fifth wheel install kit.
