Recommendation for Finding a 2 Bike Rack and Hitch for My 2006 Honda CR-V
Question:
I havent put the hitch on my crv yet. Is there a hitch that would work with this bike rack. Like a class 2 or3? What direction should I go with trying to find a hitch that is easy to use and the proper hitch. I bought the tule over the tire rack. This didnt work for me as it let the bike hand over the width of my car. Felt this was not safe.Sent it back. Now back to square 1. Any aadvice would be appreciated. Thanks

For your 2006 Honda CR-V, I would recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch for the 2006 Honda CR-V, item # 13535. Installation of this hitch is easy (see video and instructions link) and the 2 inch receiver opening will allow versatility for selecting other items as your needs may change in the future. The 1-1/4 inch hitches available for your CR-V will limit choices now and in the future. In my opinion you will be much happier with a 2 inch hitch and wheel mount style bike rack.
Once you have the hitch you select installed you will then be able to select a 2 bike rack that will work with the hitch. If you install the 2 inch # 13535 hitch on your CR-V you will be able to use the Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Hitch Mounted Folding Rack, item # Y02443, that you mentioned. This is a high quality rack that holds the bikes securely and prevents damage to the bikes and vehicle.
If you decided to go with a 1-1/4 inch hitch we do have a wheel mount rack that will work on a Class I hitch. The Swagman XC2 Wheel Mount Bike Rack, item # S64650, is a very nice rack that is sturdy in the 1-1/4 inch hitch and will also protect the bikes and your vehicle from damage.
