I just got a 2014 F150 L with no tow package. Im going to buy a hitch and a trailer wiring plug for the back, as well as a trans cooler. he question I have is I have the controller and plug I got from you for my 07 f150, but my new truck doesnt have the plug that I can find due to no tow package. The hitch I recommend for your 2014 Ford F-150 is the 2-inch Curt Class IV hitch # C14002. This offers the highest capacity of any available option and the hitch installs without drilling using included hardware. You'll just need basic tools and a torque wrench like # ALL944001 to secure the fasteners to the manufacturer's specs. Temporary lowering of the spare tire will simplify the install.
If you have a Tekonsha brake controller like their excellent P3 # 90195 then you can use your existing wiring adapter, part # 22292, to install it into the port located under the dash. To access this connector, first locate the instrument cluster finish panel in the center of you dash, near the driver's side. Carefully pry the panel out and undo the locking tabs to remove the panel. Plug the adaptor into the mating connector in the large gray housing behind the panel. Even trucks without a hitch or tow package should have the port.
To finish your controller install you'll need a 4-pole connector kit like # 18252 (unless you already have a 4-pole) and also 7-way # 37185. You'll plug the 4-pole into 37185 and then use the wire leads tucked up above your rear bumper to make the additional circuit connections for 12V power, trailer brakes and reverse lights, if needed. Install videos for both of these are linked for you. The circuit tester included in 18252 will let you confirm the function carried on each of those wires.
For a transmission cooler you can use the linked page to select your engine by clicking the Select Vehicle Style drop-down menu tool at the top of the page. If you have the 5.0 V8 or 6.2 V8 use Derale high-efficiency Class IV cooler # D13504. If you have the 3.5 or 3.7 V6 instead use # D13503. Two helpful articles are linked for you.
