Blue Ox Weight Distribution Recommendation for a 2016 Rockwood 8329SS Towed by 2016 Ford F-150
Question:
I have a 2016 Rockwood 8329SS with GVWR of 8,849 Lbs. with hitch weight of 883 lbs 9.98. I will be towing with a 2016 F150 3.5 Eco Boost with Max towing package. The max limit ratings of truck - GVWR 7,050 Lbs. and trailer GVWR of 10,050 lbs. Gross Combination Weight Rating GCWR is 17,700 lbs. I am thinking that the Blue OX BXW 1000 is what I should purchase. Do you concur? Also, I am concerned that the hitch sway control might interfere with the trucks electronic sway control. Should I be? Thanks for your help?

Expert Reply:
The Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution # BXW1000 would work great on a trailer with a loaded tongue weight of 883 lbs. You should note that the tongue weight also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the truck.
If your loaded tongue weight will end up being more than 1,000 lbs you would want to go with the 1,500 lb system part # BXW1500.
For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
The sway control of your truck would work just fine with this system as well.
Be sure not to exceed the towing capacity of your truck when the trailer is fully loaded.
