Installing Trailer Hitch Around Muffler on a 2004 Honda Pilot
Question:
The hitch fits over the muffler but how do you reattach the muffler brackets to the car?

The Draw-Tite # 75599, is the correct hitch for the 2004 Honda Pilot. This hitch is installed after removing three rubber muffler hangers to lower the exhaust. These hangers are removed using spray lubricant like WD-40 and a pry bar to push the rubber hangers off of the mounting post. Some Honda Pilots do not require the removal of the rubber muffler hangers to install the hitch (see video). You can test fit the hitch to be sure before removing the hangers.
To reattach the muffler hangers, you will need to secure the attachment points back into the rubber muffler hangers. I have also attached an installation video where the muffler was lowered for installation for you to see how the hangers are removed and reattached.
