What Is Bolt Length Measurement On The Redline Wet Equalizer Bolt, # 126B2 And Are Bushings Needed
Question:
I need this wet bolt in a 3 1/2 length. I am measuring the whole bolt from one tip to the other as they are still on the trailer. This one you advertise, 126B2, as a three inch bolt- is that measured w/o the head? No sense in getting more dry bolts as they are just going to tear up the equalizers again... Also- are bushings typically necessary? I do not have the suspension apart yet, so I do not know if they were there or not.

On the Redline Wet Equalizer Bolt, # 126B2, the length of 3 inches is not including the head. The overall length is 3-5/16 inches including the head. It is a 9/16 inches diameter bolt.
I have the Redline Wet Equalizer Bolt, # 126A1, which has a length of 3-1/2 inches not including the head, but it is a 3/4 inch diameter bolt.
Yes, the bushings on the equalizers are needed. They can wear out from excessive movement if the trailer is used more on bumpy roads.
We carry the nylon bushings and the bronze bushings for your equalizers. The bronze bushings work the best for wet equalizer bolts and the nylon work the best for the dry equalizer bolts.
If your bushings are gone or if they are worn out, I would recommend to replace the equalizers also. If you can give me the measurements of your equalizers, then I will be able to help you select the correct equalizers for your application.
I am sending a link to information on trailer suspensions and in the link it will have a section on equalizers. It will show you what measurements are needed to replace your equalizers.
