Question:
Mike, you provided a lot of info based on my recent question about the 18K Pro Serieswhich you inform is not available. Perhaps its better if you advise me as to what is the best most economical and effective way to upgrade the existing Pro Series 15K hitch in the truck to 18K which Id feel more comfortable with. My RV weighs in at 12,720 lbs and Im sure, since Im a live-aboardthat I will have close to 2000 lbs inside. Appreciate your expertise! I live in Tampa if you have recommendations on installers to deal with. Regards

If your current 15 or 16K hitch is a Pro Series or a Reese brand, you could remove the existing 15K head, and replace it with the 20K replacement head, part # 30118. I've spoken with my contacts in the tech services department at Reese, and they assure me that the # 30118 had will work just fine with the legs used by your 15K hitch. Going this route would allow you to save a few dollars by utilizing your old legs. Or, for a few more dollars, you could go with the entire set-up, consisting of the head and the legs as part # RP30928.
