Trailer Propane Tanks and Batteries Interfere with Lift Brackets on Curt Weight Distribution System

Question:

Im looking at the Curt C17051 for a 2004 Toyota Tundra towing a Lance 1685 trailer. I have limited space between the propane tanks and battery frame to mount the lift brackets. What is the length of the spring bars ball hitch to lift bracket? Also, what is the length of the lift bracket itself? Measured dimension on the trailer is 28inch with space for a bracket no bigger then 5.

The spring bar length in Curt weight distribution system # C17051 is 30-5/8 inches long. This will put the system outside the range you need but I do have a way to make it work with your trailer. Instead of using the lift brackets that come with the kit you could use chain hangers # C17005 that bolt to the sides of the trailer frame.

I have included a link to a video showing an example installation of this Curt system. The difference between using the lift brackets and the bolt-on chain hangers is how you will apply, remove tension to install/remove the spring bars. Instead of using the lift tool with the lift brackets you would instead have the trailer coupled to the tow vehicle and use the jack to raise both the trailer and back of the two vehicle a little to install or remove the bars.
