Hitch for the 2004 Pontiac Gran Prix GTP

Question:

What is the difference in the classes of hitch receivers? is there a place for my wiring connector already under the car so all I have to do is plug in my pigtail?

Trailer hitches are divided into Classes by weight carrying and tongue weight capacity. Class I hitches normally, not in all instances, have a 2000 pound towing capacity and Class II hitches normally, not in all cases, have a 3500 pound towing capacity and a 300 to 350 pound tongue weight capacity. For your Grand Prix we have a Class II hitch, the Curt, item # C12225, that will allow you to select bike racks and towing products.

We have help article (see link) that explains hitch classes in detail.

Wiring for your 2004 Pontiac Gran Prix GTP is accomplished by connecting the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring, item # 56076, inline with the rear tail light wiring on your vehicle. You will not be able to just plug in under the vehicle but you will not have to splice wires into your vehicles wiring. Once you access the vehicle tail lights, you will just unplug the connector at the rear of the tail light and plug the T-Connector inline, do the same on both sides of the vehicle.
